3. A total of plant improved genotypes produced:

a. 8 genotypes of improved cassava: (1) high yield; 2) high starch content; 3) high amylose; 4) low amylose content; 5) high beta caroten content; 6) drought resistance; 7) longer shelf life root/tuber storage; 8) tolerance to low pH soil (peat soil)

b. 4 genotypes of forest tree species: 1) transgenic mangium (Acacia mangium) of higher growth rate, higher cellulose content, lower lignin content; 2) transgenic mangium (Acacia mangium) of lower lignin content; 3) transgenic sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria) of higher growth rate, higher cellulose content, lower lignin content; 4) transgenic sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria) of lower lignin content.

Dr. Satya Nugroho

Dr. Satya Nugroho is a plant molecular biologist and breeder at the Research Center for Biotechnology, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). He is involved in many research and development of biotech crops especially in rice. He also supervises both undergraduate and graduate students from different universities in Indonesia, and a reviewer in several scientific journals. He received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Research School for Biological Sciences (RSBS) at the Australian National University in collaboration with the Center for the Application of Molecular Biology to International Agriculture (CAMBIA) in Australia. Currently, he also serves as the head of the Plant Group of the Technical Team for Environmental Biosafety of GM Crops, and has been involved in the development of the current regulations and guidance on the release of GM Crops in Indonesia.

Dr.  Enung Sri Mulyaningsih, M.Si. adalah Peneliti di Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi, Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia.  Menjadi staf di sejak 1992 selepas menyenyam pendidikan Diploma III di Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Pendidikan Doktoral dari universitas yang sama. 

 

Bidang Kepakaran yang ditekuni ialah bioteknologi dan pemuliaan tanaman.  Padi, terutama jenis gogo merupakan komoditas tanaman yang banyak ditelitinya selain itu juga tanaman buah nusantara  dan lainnya.   Telah melepas tiga varieas padi gogo LIPI dan mendafartakan galur-galur padi gogo unggul lainnya.

Dr. Tri Muji Ermayanti

Peneliti pada Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi, Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia sejak tahun 1986. Pendidikan sarjana di Institut Pertanian Bogor dan PhD di Murdoch University, Australia.

Bidang yang ditekuninya selama ini adalah kultur sel dan jaringan tanaman yang telah diaplikasikan pada berbagai jenis tanaman. Selain sebagai peneliti, juga aktif membimbing mahasiswa tingkat sarjana maupun pasca sarjana dan sebagai mitra bestari pada beberapa jurnal ilmiah.

Current Research

“Molecular and Physiological Characterisation of Fruit Softening Delay in Capsicum annuum

We observed one pepper cultivar showing fruit softening delay up to four weeks post-harvest. Transcript analysis candidate genes underlying structural enzymes responsible for pectin degradation showed a candidate gene has a lower expression level during ripening. Further analysis of molecular regulation underlying this trait is investigated in a population developed from a cross between fruit softening delay and commercial pepper cultivars.

Peneliti pada Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi, Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia sejak tahun 2011. Menyelesaikan S3 di bidang Biologi molekuler di Department of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Bath dengan judul tesis S3 nya adalah “The Role of Inter-conversion of Scopoletin and Scopolin in Cassava Post-harvest Deterioration.

Bidang yang ditekuni saat ini adalah rekayasa genetika ubi kayu atau singkong terkait dengan daya simpan umbi setelah panen dan juga bidang pascapanen menghasilkan mocaf kaya beta-karoten. Selain itu, aktif membimbing mahasiswa pasca-sarjana.

Ambar Yuswi Perdani, M.Si.

Lahir di Tanjung Karang, 28 April 1984 yang lalu.  Resmi bergabung dengan LIPI pada Februari 2015 bernaung di Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi dan ditempatkan di Laboratorium Agronomi untuk Produk Bioteknologi, lalu bermigrasi ke kelompok penelitian Bioteknologi Tanaman Berbasis Biologi Molekuler untuk Mendukung Ketahanan Pangan, Obat, dan Energi hingga sekarang. Dalam meniti karir sebagai peneliti, menekuni topik Tanaman Pangan, Hortikultura dan Perkebunan sebagai bidang kepakaran. Selama di LIPI, kegiatan yang digeluti meliputi perakitan varietas baru tanaman cabai dan padi, karakterisasi padi lokal dan buah nusantara, uji cekaman abiotik padi lokal, dan diseminasi padi gogo di lahan sub optimal.
